Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction and Agreement

Welcome to Scanbook, a service operated by Connective Ltd ("Scanbook", "we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 11148446, with registered office at Unit Da2 Sutherland House, 43 Sutherland Road, London, E17 6BU, United Kingdom.

Scanbook is an online marketplace that enables patients to search, compare, and book private diagnostic imaging and medical scan appointments at regulated, independent healthcare providers across the United Kingdom. Scanbook does not provide medical services directly; we act as a technology intermediary connecting patients with CQC-registered imaging providers.

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

The Platform is available to persons aged 18 years and over who are residents of the United Kingdom. You may book a scan on behalf of another person, provided you have their authority to do so and accept responsibility for ensuring their personal information is provided accurately.

3. Important Disclaimer - Scanbook is Not a Medical Provider

Scanbook is a booking facilitator only. We are not a medical service provider and do not operate, manage, or control any imaging centre, diagnostic facility, or clinical service.

All medical services, including scans, imaging procedures, and reports, are provided solely by the independent Clinic you book with. Scanbook has no influence over clinical decisions, scan protocols, or radiological reports.

Nothing on the Platform constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or clinical recommendation. You should always consult a qualified medical professional regarding your health and any scan results.

4. Bookings and Appointments

To make a booking, you must provide accurate personal details, select the scan type and preferred Clinic, and complete payment via our secure payment processor Stripe. A booking is confirmed only once you receive written confirmation from Scanbook.

Once your booking is confirmed, the relevant Clinic is responsible for scheduling and performing your appointment. Scanbook does not guarantee any specific appointment date or time; all scheduling is subject to the Clinic's availability.

Scan images and radiological reports are produced by the Clinic and/or independent radiologists. Scanbook has no influence over, and does not guarantee the timeliness of, these outputs.

Many scans on the Platform can be booked without a GP referral. Where a referral is required or recommended, Scanbook may introduce you to a partner GP for a remote consultation.

5. Payments and Pricing

All payments are processed securely via Stripe. Prices are displayed in GBP and are inclusive of any applicable taxes. Prices may change at any time; the price displayed at the time of booking is the price you pay.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

6. Cancellation and Refund Policy

You may cancel your booking subject to the following terms:

  • Cancellation more than 48 hours before your appointment: full refund.
  • Cancellation within 48 hours of your appointment: no refund.
  • Did Not Attend without cancellation: no refund. If a second DNA occurs for a rebooked appointment, an additional £50 administration fee may apply.
  • If a Clinic cancels or is unable to fulfil your appointment, Scanbook will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative Clinic or a full refund.
  • Approved refunds will be processed within 5-10 working days to your original payment method.

7. Your Responsibilities

By using the Platform, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and truthful personal and medical information at all times.
  • Disclose any relevant medical conditions, contraindications, or implants that may affect your safety during a scan.
  • Follow all pre-scan preparation instructions provided by the Clinic.
  • Not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in any way that infringes the rights of others.
  • Not attempt to impersonate any other person or submit false information.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform, including but not limited to design, text, graphics, software, and trademarks, is owned by or licensed to Connective Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or exploit any content from the Platform without our prior written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by English law, Connective Ltd's aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform or any booking shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the relevant booking.

Connective Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, special, or punitive loss, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, whether arising in contract, tort, or otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Third-Party Clinics and Services

The Clinics listed on the Platform are independent third parties. Scanbook does not endorse, warrant, or accept responsibility for the quality, safety, or conduct of any Clinic. The Platform may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content of any third-party site.

11. Data Protection and Privacy

Your use of the Platform is subject to our Privacy Policy. As the Platform processes health data, special category data under UK GDPR, we take particular care to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you have a complaint, please contact us in the first instance at info@scanbook.uk. We will endeavour to resolve complaints within 14 working days.

13. Amendments

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The updated version will be posted on the Platform with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Force Majeure

Connective Ltd shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, pandemic, war, government orders, industrial action, or failure of third-party systems.
